Worst experience ever. My son had an injury while snowboarding and used this surgery center. The surgey went fine, but it was what happened after. The anesthesiologist, Tony Gianoulis, uses a company called South Towne Anesthesia, LLC, which you can't really find anywhere, who apparently contracts with Ventrahealth.com and for billing they sent my 20-year-old son THREE TEXTS AND THEN SENT THE BILL TO COLLECTIONS. No physical mail, no email, nothing but texts. Really? I've taught my kids never to believe any request for money via text unless you know the person. It took us hours to finally get ahold of someone at the right company that may be able to help and yet they couldn't because my son needed to give me permission to speak with them. After three reqests and six weeks, we finally got the paperwork, we called, and we told them they billed the insurance with a bad insurance number. They wrote the number down wrong and needed to rebill. Nothing for months, all the while the collections company was breathing down our necks (actually, they were pretty helpful). Finally, we stopped dealing with this place, and went solely through the collections agency and ONE YEAR LATER this bill has finally been resolved. I should have just paid the 2 grand up front if it knew it was going to be this much trouble. It's unfortunate that people do business like this.

Stacy, my sons pre-op nurse was phenomenal. She helped my son feel at ease with the entire process. She even had him hear his own heart beat with the stethoscope. Gary made the transition from pre-op to the OR seamless! Helped my son feel safe. Brandi, post-op nurse was patient and caring. Facility is very clean. Overall, very positive experience!

Unbelievably poor service provided by Dr Charles Marshall and his staff. During my experience they proved that they could not care less about your health problems. I cannot recommend enough for you and your health that you avoid this place.

Poor! ABSOLUTELY POOR! This surgical center is all physician owned and operated. Each of them have a vested interest, meaning they each receive a portion of the revenue (which has annual sales of approximately USD 4,714,652, and only about 30 actual employees). With that, they have financial incentives to perform more procedures and steer patients to their own facilities. They hound you from start to finish about paying upfront, and very intimidatingly. Then, you are double-billed for things like anesthesia from both the CRNA (Gary A Wiscombe) and the Anesthesiologist (Tony Gianoulis, MD), and the actual costs are about the same for each. This was a simple, uncomplicated foot surgery for healthy women with no medical issues. Then you have to call Dallas for the billing folks to make an inquiry about the potential double-billing error and to receive an actual EOB, and are rudely told "You signed the form to pay." After six weeks they never sent the actual EOB, so I called again... they said they can only email it to me, NOT SEND IT! I did finally get it via email, but not until AFTER THEY TURNED IT OVER TO COLLECTIONS (Express Recovery Services, INC - SLC)! I guess they didn't like me questioning the potential double-billing... HMMMM... They (all those affiliated with Lone Peak Surgery Center) should be turned into the Utah Attorney General, Derek Brown, for a full investigation of improprieties at this location for their billing (and double-billing) practices. Also for the intimidation demands for pre-payment. I believe it would also fall under insurance fraud as well! Clearly my experience is not much different from others posing concerns, so just BEWARE!!!

While the surgery center itself is clean and efficient, and I have no complaints about the doctor, I do want to warn everyone to be aware of how the anesthesiologists bill for things. My husband went in for a ROUTINE colonoscopy, which is supposed to be 100% covered by insurance. However, for some unknown reason, the anesthesiologists (yes, 2 of them) - Cardin Bell and Brett Dyer - billed it out as diagnostic. After 3 months, 2 letters, and 5 phone calls to their billing department, it was determined that it was indeed a diagnostic colonoscopy. Why? Because they said so. Which means my husband's ROUTINE colonoscopy, that is a preventative procedure, cost nearly $400. We will NOT be returning to this hospital until they can correct the questionable billing practices of their anesthesiologists.
