We had such a great experience here. From the kind front desk receptionist, Shelley, to all the nurses who assisted during my son’s surgery. The anesthesiologist walked us through every step and was compassionate. We felt well informed through the whole process and made to feel comfortable while waiting for our son’s intricate surgery. We even got a post operative call to check in. While I hope we never need to be at this surgical site again, I would not hesitate coming back if needed!

First of all, I never leave any kinda of review for anything, so this is a first. I have been dealing with Chesapeake Urology/Summit since I was diagnosed with prostate cancer over five years ago. And my wife much longer than myself. And we have been very satisfied with everything. However, I just had surgery 3/28/24 and could not be more disappointed with Summit this time!!! I will say the surgery was successful and I happy it the results thus far. But the how the pre-op and recovery went I am not pleased at all. First, they had trouble with the IV and had to try three times and never bandaged the two unsuccessful attempts. Next after surgery in recovery I had not fully woke up and my wife was in there and helping me get dressed and she asked why was I crying and my eyes swollen and no response. Also she asked about my blood pressure and my sugar that was so high. Yet I was still made to get dress then get into the wheelchair that was brought in. I then was wheeled out to my car while still groggy. Finally, at home the next day my throat was swollen and we took a look and it was pretty bad. My uvula was badly swollen and red along with the back of my throat from all the scarring. My uvula is still really bad and elongated and red and white from the damage. So overall I am very disappointed with the experience! I have had other procedures at this location and they went well. I will not go to this location to have any kinda of procedures done! I’m actually closer to two others but this one is where my urologist is. I have recommended this location (Doctors) to friends of mine but will recommend them not to have a procedure there!

I’m disappointed in the follow up process with the Annapolis office. My toddler went in for surgery on Monday and I’ve been calling all day (Thursday) for a nurse check in. Why wouldn’t you have at least a phone call to follow up? ESPECIALLY if the patient is asking for help?
