First time dealing with my eyes and was apprehensive about going there. From the greeting as you enter the door to the finance lady the experience was great. The young lady who did the battery of test was so professional and kept on pace but tight compassion. Dr. Chang was straight forward and all business. The Finance lady as I called her made the overall experience comfortable. I keep calling her the finance lady because she had paper work with all the options and add ons I could get. It was funny and she dealt with my sense of humor stride for stride. Overall a great experience and I am looking forward to getting my sight corrected
Very organized. Was taken back quickly for all my tests by Andre, who was the absolutely best. Extremely professional, kind and compassionate. Really made all the testing and questions go by quickly. Amanda did a thorough job of explaining the surgery to me and getting me scheduled. When I called her back with a question later in the day she passed the information on to Dr. Srivastava and I got a call back very quickly. I am very pleased with my care and this visit.
I want to thank this office and specifically Gina for their outstanding care and honesty. I was referred to CEC for a LASIK consult. Very unfortunately, I am not a candidate for corrective eye surgery, but this goes to show the incredible conservative approach EVERY eye center should have. I appreciate their honesty and not taking risks with my sight. Gina was so wonderful and hopeful during this entire process. She is a WEALTH of knowledge and deserves some serious recognition. She knew how badly I wanted this and went above and beyond to make sure we ruled out every option. Gina is an asset to this practice and I hope she is there when one day I might be considered for corrective surgery, in the future :)
The aesthetics of this office at a renowned hospital was a mask to what my experience was today. I walked through the doors to the office and was hit with a repugnant odor of onions as an employee was having their breakfast. The office was very chaotic with zero fluidity to organize the large volume of patients and staff roaming aimlessly. Several staffers seem to be taking turns congregating at the main front desks and over sharing patient information regarding their appointments and tardiness. Thankfully, patient identifiers were not mentioned. The observation was very off-putting and extremely unprofessional. As this was my third visit, the staff was nothing as I remembered from my last visit as it was evident staff are untrained and disheveled. I observed for a total of 40 minutes as I was waiting to be acknowledged for my appointment. At that point, I decided I no longer wanted to be a patient of this office. Therefore, I gracefully made my way to the front desk and calmly told the young lady behind the desk that I would like my copay refunded. After doing so my name was called in which I acknowledged the young lady and made her aware that I was leaving the practice. Her response came off as no big deal let’s reschedule you… I assured her no that I would not be coming back. I live 30+ minutes away, and made arrangements to have this appointment. Food for thought and Id like to share a few lines of advice from a medical professional. Patients, like myself see and hear everything. The actions of the employees are not at fault although not appealing, it simply is the management and all the way up the chain of command are who severely faulted. Properly invest in educating and training your employees thoroughly. Make sure they are seen, heard and respected as they are the face of any organization. Importantly, without the employees under you, the organization would crumble. Pay them well and lead by example.
I’ve had nothing but excellent experiences at Chesapeake Eye Care. Cataract surgery by Heather Nesti was thorough pre-op and the results were amazing. Follow-up for an eyelid side effect with Chase Hutchings was terrific. Mr. Hutchings took care to explain every detail and answer questions. He was extremely friendly and had an exceptional manner. I would highly recommend this eye care group.
