Jackson Surgery Center

My daughter had outpatient surgery today, and while I’m grateful that her procedure went well, the communication throughout the process was extremely disappointing and stressful. She was checked in at 7:30 AM, and at around 9:00 AM a nurse called to explain that I would receive updates during each phase of the process — when she went back, when surgery started, when she entered recovery, and that the surgeon would call after the procedure. Unfortunately, none of those promised updates happened. Instead, I had to repeatedly call the desk myself just to get basic information. When I called around 12:30 PM, I was told she was doing fine and that someone would be coming to get me shortly. Over an hour later, no one had come to update me. When I called again, I was then told she had just come out of surgery at 1:09 PM — which conflicted with the earlier information I had been given. To make matters more confusing, a staff member in the lobby suggested that my daughter may have chosen not to allow updates or not wanted me to come back, which completely contradicted what I was told earlier about the hospital providing updates to family members throughout the process. When a parent is waiting during their child’s surgery, clear and consistent communication is essential. Being given conflicting information and having to chase updates added unnecessary stress to an already emotional situation. I appreciate the medical care my daughter received, but the communication process with families during surgery needs significant improvement. Families deserve accurate updates and consistent information while their loved ones are in surgery.

I had an amazing experience at The Jackson Surgery Center! The staff and doctors were professional, compassionate, and attentive from start to finish. The facility is clean and well organized, and they made every step of my surgery and recovery smooth and stress-free. I truly felt cared for as a person, not just a patient.

I've been there twice for a medical procedure. Back in February for an endoscopy and again yesterday for a colonoscopy. Both times everyone from the front desk to the person who wheeled out to the car was very helpful, friendly, kind, caring and professional. Everyone explained what they were doing and made sure that I was comfortable and at ease with the procedure being done. Thank you to everyone who took care of me during this time.

I had a colonoscopy today. This was my first one at Jackson. I cannot begin to express how wonderful everyone did their jobs and made me feel completely at ease. Everything went according to plan, even if it hadn’t. I feel secure in the fact that I was in good hands thank you so much.

My Mom had an appointment and Valecia with registration was phenomenal. Her personality was everything. Thanks for making her feel comfortable.
