I recently had surgery on both eyes here, and I was amazed at how well we were treated, from intake to discharge. Every staff member and doctor we interacted with actually listened and acted on my concerns, especially with anesthesia, and went above and beyond to make sure I had a wonderful surgical experience - the first good experience I've had in my lifetime, and even brought my husband and me a hot cup of coffee before I was discharged. Who does that?? I cannot say enough good things about the folks here, and will highly recommend them to everyone I know! Thank you Asheville Eye Surgery Center!! Keep up the excellent work!

I drove a friend to Asheville Eye Surgery Center to have cataract surgery. I was required to stay on the grounds until the surgery was completed. I had the option to sit in the waiting room or on the outside bench. The whole thing took about two hours. The office was very busy and it seemed everyone was there to have cataract surgery. The surgery went very well. He said that he can see without glasses now, and it is amazing.

Front desk is pleasant unless you have too many questions. However, Kathy in billing was the worst and most unfriendly customer service person I've encountered. She treated me as though I was bothering her when asking about billing. The center has a sign on the front desk that reads, "Be Kind of Leave". What? I know the source of this phrase from a New Orleans artist, but to have it posted in this kind of environment is VERY unprofessional and insensitive to those with fear. It seemed to reflect how the admin staff there treated elders (the majority of folks having work done here). People are already very stressed and anxious with having eye surgery and I have to say, my husband was treated as if he just needed to shut up and sit down and stop asking questions. This sign felt like it confirmed that sentiment in my opinion. Though the surgery went well, the doctor was as arrogant as they get - living up to the bad reputation and stereotype of US surgeons. If you have an alternative to go somewhere else for eye surgery, I would recommend it.

I struggle with anxiety but everyone was great at helping me feel relaxed. Some shout outs to everyone I can remember post sedation: Dr. Scott, nurses Pam, Anthony, Dallas, and CRNA Emily. Thank you for your hard work and great care.

From check-in to discharge on Feb.2 the care I received was exceptional. The staff were kind, caring and reassuring. They explained everything being done and why and answered my questions. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. DrCrandall was informative and I am sure that I got the best possible care. Many thanks for making my experience so positive.
