Excellent surgical and post-op experience! From the time of my arrival, I felt I was in great hands. Gina was friendly, professional and caring as she got me set up. Dr. Flax is an excellent anesthesiologist, personable, thorough and very skilled. My overnight nurses, Robin and Heather, were outstanding! They were attentive yet respectful and aware of anything I needed to stay safe and comfortable. I was very well taken care of!

Wish I could give zero stars. DO NOT HAVE SURGERY HERE. I am actively in the process of reporting them to multiple regulatory and advocacy organizations. They will bill you for many thousands of dollars more than is reasonable for any procedure - please use Fair Health to look up what the costs SHOULD be - you'll find Timonium Surgery Center bills at multiples times that, even with in-network insurance discounts. They have also promised - but have yet to deliver despite weeks of asking - to send my son's detailed medical records showing what they actually did to him, have sent an itemized bill (after requesting twice) that they clearly doctored, as it doesn't match the original bill (they changed amounts on the billable items), and they have yet to sent the list of private equity owners of the facility, as they state on their website that they will do upon request. Again, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I wasn't impressed with the service at the surgery center. I had foot surgery done and it wasn't until 24 hours before my surgery that I was contacted and told what time to report. I actually reached out to the surgery center the day before after lunch because I had not received a call from them with the time of the surgery. Surgery was scheduled for the afternoon and I was told that I would need to bring a credit card because my portion would be $500+. There was no discussion about the cost prior to 24hrs before the surgery. Wow, all of a sudden I'm being told the cost less than 24 hrs. prior, mind you that I actually called a week prior to my surgery and was told that someone would call me 24 hrs. before and let me know of the time. I thought it was ridiculous but went along with it. On the afternoon of my surgery I was called and told that I needed to report an hour later , 4:30pm instead of 3:30pm....doctor was running behind. Ok, I get there at 4:30pm and go to what I thought was the main entrance, only to be told by security that the surgery center was at the end of the building around the corner. I should move the car to that side of the building. Why didn't someone from the center tell me this when they called to confirm my time. Sloppy. I was already nervous about having the surgery so late in the day and this only added to the frustration. The person at the front desk was not at all friendly. I'm not sure that she ever made eye contact with me until I said I couldn't pay the full $500+ that day. The nurses were just ok, seemed like they just wanted to go home. After all, I was the last surgery of the day and I felt it with the vibe there. Overall, the surgery went well - pleased with my doctor, but not thrilled about the surgery center. I don't get the rave reviews that others have written, surely wasn't my experience.

This place deserves minus in stars for billing. Before my surgery they called me several days before and demanded I pay them $3000 up front. I said I don't have that kind of money. Then they said I could do a payment plan.well how do they know what my charges will be if I have not even had surgery. Plus my insurance is BCBS carefirst and the surgery center was under my plan. Well I get my statement from bcbs after the surgery and they charged my insurance $99,000.00 for sinus surgery which was an hour and a half. Blue cross only paid them a fraction of that but for the surgery center alone I owe 1900.00 out of pocket. This does not even include the other statements for the doctor, etc. They had 12 billing codes many of which were duplicate all for sinus surgery. This place is running some kind of racket and I will be reporting them to MD consumer affairs. Do not get taken here. Opt to have surgery at gbmc.

I would prefer if there were no stars. The nurses forced me out while I wasn't even awake yet. They had my husband and mother hold me up and dress me could I wasn't able to sit, much less stand. They did not send me home with all of my discharge information or the items needed for my after care. They charged my insurance company $106342.00 for sinus surgery. That does not include my surgeons fee, nor the anethesia or the $985 for devices they used on my legs (?!?) The insurance company told me they have never seen such gross over billing. I contacted GBMC, my other option to have the surgery, and they were shocked. The bill amount they would of submitted was a fraction of this. I now have over $3000 in outstanding bills. Dr. Dubin did tell me he is a partner in this surgical center which is why I went there. BAD CHOICE!!!
