Everything seemed efficient and all personnel friendly but upon discharge was actually there over 1 and 1/2 hrs. Time in between various procedures was too long. Dr Sheil was very thorough and explanative and enjoyed meeting her as a transition from Dr Bokowsky’s care. I look forward to seeing her again for one year follow-up. Another issue was that calendar was not not opened to schedule one year appointment so I need to remember to call and make appointment and was told to call in May or June.

Staff was nice, but the doctor was dismissive and getting ahold of the office to get my prescription verified for a third party was a nightmare. I had to come back in person because no one was helping through phone or email. They’ve also been sending me frequent marketing emails and texts - I’ve never had a healthcare provider do this before, it’s the type of thing I expect from retail stores and services. I had to block their number and email to stop getting spam.

The doctor herself is beyond excellent; however, the administrative staff is exceptionally abysmal. Extremely disappointing because while we love her, the people running her office are likely the reason we will seek care elsewhere. We’ve shown them grace, have been extremely patient, given them the benefit of the doubt, etc. However, despite this, they have demonstrated to be unorganized from top to bottom across all departments. We have yet to have an issue resolved with a discrepancy with medication prescriptions, and we’ve called the office four times to no avail. We also received the incorrect prescription for our glasses and contacts from the optometry office. Their staff across all locations is in dire need of proper training and leadership, because their service is disastrous and has consistently declined across the years. If you go to any of their locations, do not leave until you have quadruple-checked your paperwork and received confirmation from your pharmacy that the prescription has been sent. You’ll save yourself hours of headaches. The doctor gets five stars; the office staff zero. We are truly sad to look for care elsewhere but you’re not giving us much choice.

My visit with Eye Care San Diego was great! I was welcomed with a smile and seen right away by Dr. Taunton. He runs a organized , personalized and on-time practice. He took time to to review my file and provided the best care. I highly recommend Dr. Taunton and Ey Care of San Diego.

Very long wait for an apparently overbooked doctor. Our encounter was brief, and doctor Allen seems knowledgeable and pleasant, but felt quite rushed. The loss of rating stars falls on the site, not the physician
