It was my first visit - I had to bring my 75 y/o Veteran for an eye procedure Monday morning . As we walked in the door we were greeted by the front desk receptionist, Mary (her name tag read) she was very welcoming , explained the forms for Mr Volley to complete & verified my information as I would be ensuring he gets home safely. She was very professional, nice & gave me great recommendations to grab coffee lol 😂 As I returned from coffee & sat in the lobby working on my IPad there were several Staff that walked through the lobby in blue scrubs - they weren’t as nice & friendly as Mary out of the 5 that I actually saw walk past only 1 , yep only 1 said “hello how are you today” the rest just walked through the pt waiting lobby with no contact at all. Which may be ok for some it is ok with me but it’s called acknowledging your patients - whenever you come in contact wether walking pass in a hallway, lobby or even out front - But the gentleman & lady that rolled Mr Volley were very nice & the gentleman explained to myself & Mr Volley to reiterate his instructions of S/P Sx care . We thank you guys at Pontchartrain Sx Center for your professionalism , care & compassion for your pts. Mr. Volley says when they took him to the back everyone took such great care of him . The waiting area was nice, no it’s not a huge waiting area but it sufficient for what they do - I feel the way they schedule it keeps the area pretty open & not overcrowded . The bathrooms were clean, waiting area nice & neat as well. The arrival time was 11am so (as a retired nurse) I’m thinking 15-20 minute early arrival for paperwork etc well, they out smarted me lol 😂 the 11am was an hour prior arrival time - Mary advised that the procedure was for 12 but it all worked out it wasn’t 15 minutes an they were calling him to the back . Overall a great experience - I rated a 4 only b/c as a former clinical supervisor Pt. / Client / family acknowledgement is very important - customer service - first point of contact - staff walking through & not saying anything or making any kind of acknowledgement doesn’t set well with myself - Thank you guys for an awesome experience for my Veteran -
the required arrival time an hour before surgery time is overkill, when the actual time they call you to be prepped is overkill an hour AFTER arrival time. Truthfully a 15 minute arrival time would make more sense since nithing is on schedule
I recently had cateract surgery at this facility. They are not only highly professional but also make you feel at home. Each person I dealt with was pleasant and knowledgeable. At no time did I feel I was not in the most capable hands available. I was certainly a bit apprehensive, but they took the time to explain the procedure and quell my concerns. It's amazing that they can give such great service each day to every person who visits this facility. I can highly recommend them to anyone who has a need for such services. Well done to the staff, management, and doctors!
Had a procedure today and everyone from scheduling, check in, and OR staff was super caring and helpful during a stressful time.
This place is awesome. I was there for cataract surgery, and the entire staff from the reception desk to nurses are so friendly and caring. I had Catherine for my nurse, and she was fantastic. She put me at ease, explained everything and really reduced my surgery anxiety. I highly recommend this place for surgery.
