My wife just had cataract surgery, as well as Lasik 30 years ago, with Dr. Mandel and got the best of care. I should know because I am a retired optometrist that also had lasik and cataract surgery with Dr. Mandel. I have referred hundreds of my patients to Dr. Mandel during my career for both cataract and lasik surgery and they have all received excellent care. They have a filled reception room of patients because the Bay Area knows he is one of the best surgeons in the area. I referred my ENTIRE family for lasik surgery and now my wife for cataract surgery because I wanted them to have the best possible eye care. Dr. Mandel is the best.
Spoke with Ana regarding a doc I needed her to fax to me. That was on a Friday and she never sent it. I’ve been calling the office for two days and no one answers. Today is Tuesday and I have called five times today. No one answers. What type of establishment is this? Not professional at all.
i am sorry that i have to agree with the others’ review of 1 star. The staff doesn’t answer the phone, and is careless about you！I had the cataract review in September, but the earliest surgery schedule is in March next year. It’s about 6 months away! I don’t think the measurements will still be correct?! The reason I gave a 2-stars rating is Dr. Mandel is very experienced.
I know that Dr Mandel is not a match for my needs. Him and his office does not respect your time as a patient, I was on time and followed all thier rules. While I sat in the waiting room for 20 minutes, I listened to the nurse who would see me next, marking vacation plans and chit chatting with 3 others, honestly do that in another. Room. Then after 2 hours, when I finally saw the dr, I mentioned to the dr that it would have been nice to know I was going to be 2 hours , I could have blocked it out on my calendar. He got nasty and I said we were done....what?. Either way I don't want that person doing surgery on my eye's.
