Amazing experience! Pianist at a baby grand as you walk in. So calming. Cafeteria has wonderful food. Clean and inviting. Procedure was completed 90 min early. Very nice people. I’ll drive the hour any time.

Wow Scott Fritz you need to file a Lawsuit and report all of them to the Arizona medical boards. My wife is 14 days post op and in pain and just wanted a appointment to be seen. A RN screened her out and we did not a get a simple follow up appointment,. she wants her to "describe the pain and send a picture of where it hurts" TERRIBLE that is a incompetent response,oh and by the way we are both Healthcare professionals, I am Pissed i am going to report her to the nursing board, as now she has forced us seek care elsewhere. Clearly the physician the procedure should see her in followup. Mayo what a let down

The process was cumbersome and required waiting several weeks without any clear indication of whether I would ultimately be accepted for consultation. This uncertainty is both frustrating and concerning, particularly when timely medical evaluation is important. In this instance, I was explicitly advised by two primary care physicians to seek consultation with a specialist (in this case I reached out to Mayo). Given this guidance, I do not understand why Mayo Clinic determined that I was not an appropriate candidate for evaluation at Mayo facility. As a new resident in this area, I found the overall process to be very inefficient and impersonal, which was unexpected given Mayo Clinic’s reputation for patient-centered care.

Public Review for Mayo Clinic Transplant Center I am leaving this review to inform future kidney transplant patients, especially those considering Mayo Clinic. Please read carefully before proceeding. Mayo Clinic’s transplant program does not coordinate with outside dialysis clinics—even if your medical history, labs, and nephrologist are from a different facility. Instead, they require that all transplant-related care be handled exclusively through Mayo, creating unnecessary logistical and financial strain on patients. Additionally, Mayo requires a family member or designated caregiver to undergo a brief certification and be available for 24/7 care for a minimum of six weeks post-transplant. This person does not need to have medical training, a background in recovery care, or professional experience—but Mayo makes them the primary caregiver over skilled facilities. When I asked for written documentation (black and white protocol) on these policies, I was met with silence. The representatives were unable—or unwilling—to provide official paperwork backing up these critical requirements. In my experience, this structure creates a built-in bias against patients who are single, estranged from family, or come from non-traditional support systems. It feels like a quiet way of disqualifying those without two caregivers or a specific household setup. As I told the representative: “You have licensed skilled nursing facilities that specialize in transplant recovery. They provide meals, transportation, and around-the-clock support. But you reject those options and push untrained family members into primary roles. What are these systems built for, if not to be used?” This review isn’t to bash Mayo—it’s to inform those walking in blind. Ask questions. Demand written policies. Two lips can say any damn thing—but your life deserves clarity, respect, and structure. Sincerely, A patient who chose truth over silence

I never experienced such great care which includes expertise, compassion and courtesy from intake to counseling in my entire life. I always heard about Mayo but never had reason to visit. Now I do and wow. I wish the whole health care system is like this. Good luck with your journey.
