I had a tonsillectomy here last week and the entire process and procedure was flawless. Dr. Bertroche did the surgery and he’s excellent ENT Dr. The front desk check in person was super nice and helpful. My pre op and post op nurses, Sarah and Denise, were exceptional and really eased my anxiety. I appreciated getting cost estimate beforehand and the great communication before the procedure. This place is a well oiled machine and the staff were all amazing professionals.

Went in for a procedure on my uterus and everyone from the front desk staff, pre op nurse, OR nurses, anesthesiologist, surgeon and recovery/discharge nurse were so wonderful! I remember being put to sleep and the OR nurse telling me how they would all take really great care of me as I was falling asleep. It was so comforting, I was nervous as it was my first surgery but I felt like I was in great hands from start to finish. Also, the place ran like a well oiled machine. Minimal waiting time and they kept my husband well informed throughout the entire process. Great experience :)

I wanted to give this place more stars because at first it did seem as though they ran like a well oiled machine but the communication or lack there of took away additional stars. Why is the communication HEAVILY reliant on e-mails, text messages and surveys? This is the first procedure I have had where no one calls you the next day?!?! They send a survey and in the survey they have an area to check if you want them to call you. That's unacceptable. Someone did call me a couple hours later, I told them I was very worried because I felt like I had been hit by a truck and could barely move. The lady stated "it's because of the paralytic they used, many patients give us that description". I had to ask the name (Succinylcholine) to make sure I never have this used on me again. The anesthesiologist never even discussed possible side effects or what to be aware of once everything wore off either. Even when trying to figure out the cost of the procedure, time to arrive - none of that was communicated via a phone call, I had to call in every time. They send emails less than 12 hours prior to the procedure which again is unacceptable. The nurses were great however it may be a good idea to educate them on what to look for as reactions post procedure... extreme shivering being one of them and how to treat for it. Facility was clean and they had coffee for the family while waiting which was appreciative.

I never received a patient satisfaction survey via email like i was told i would, so here I am. My experience with the check-in staff, anesthesiologist, and surgeon was fantastic. Sarah, my pre-op nurse, was particularly kind and made me feel at ease. Unfortunately, my experience with the recovery and post-op nurses was not as positive. I felt significantly rushed to leave, as if I was one of their last patients. I couldn't keep my eyes open in the car, and I vomited twice during the 20-minute drive home. I would have appreciated some more time to get acclimated and actually wake up before being discharged.

Front desk staff: amazing! Pre-op nurses: could not seem to do anything by themselves. Took three people for the IV and the one who got my IV in refused to wear gloves. They had to put a catheter in me to get a UA because I was dehydrated, took two nurses, both were verbally questioning the anatomy of my body and not able to get their shorter catheter in properly. They found a longer one after 5 minutes of poking around and failing with the short one. Took 7 more minutes of poking to finally get what they needed. Surgeon & anesthesiologist: I was then able to speak to surgeon and anesthesiologist which was 1.5 hours later than scheduled time. Very stressful. Surgeon was great but anesthesiologist acted surprised and bothered when I was asking questions and knew the types of intubation tubes. Walked to OR, the OR nurse was the best and most kind lady I had there. Post-op part one: the nurse asked me if I was in pain, gave me meds, then when I was trying to sign that I needed something her response was “you know you can talk right?” I had just had an oral surgery and it hurt to talk. I struggled to speak but was able to say I wanted my family member. She said “no” and when I shrugged why, she was already looking down at her computer typing. She acted like she hated her job with all the sass and eye rolls I got. I tried about two minutes later to ask again and said “family please”. The nurse looked up from her computer, sighed, and said “later.” No other explanation which was frustrating because this was my first surgery and I was scared and confused most of the time there. Post-op part 2: I waited for at least 30 minutes then a different nurse came and asked me if I wanted juice and a popsicle. I nodded yes and she promised to be back. She came back shortly and said my room and family member was ready to see me, she wheeled me to the room and was very kind as well. She was one of the few staff members that had a genuine smile. She explained that I had to wait another hour before going home and helped me get dressed and sat with me and my family member while I ate. She told me she understood that my throat probably was sore so she was not going to make me talk. Instead, she told me I could type or write if I wanted to speak. I used Google translate to talk and she was very patient while I typed and she answered my questions very calmly and respectfully. Overall I say 2/5 because of the staff interactions I had. I wish it was a better experience.
