I cannot say enough about Dr. Rutland and his staff. I was assigned him during an ER visit. He saved my life and I had several follow up surgeries. He is very kind and knowledgeable. The kind part is rare these days. His staff with Corrie his NP and the scheduler Ally were just great. Most of work was done in the ER, but the last surgeries were minimal and done on site in Roswell. The staff were great and I never had one issue. Everything is laid out properly as far as visits and medications. All questions were always answered within 24 hours if I reached out on their patient portal. If you ever need anything done I wouldn’t hesitate to use him.
Our pediatric appointment was canceled without any notice. No call, no email, no message. We only realized something was wrong because the usual online check-in and reminder never came through, so I called to find out what happened. Getting through to an actual human being was a complete nightmare. Endless automated menus, zero clarity, and no urgency whatsoever. After finally reaching someone, I was casually told that the doctor (Dr. Hal) retired in December. December. And no one thought to inform patients with scheduled appointments? That alone is wildly unprofessional. I agreed to book with another doctor, but the appointment the representative supposedly scheduled never actually went through. So now I am back on the phone again, stuck listening to a ridiculous loop of advertisements about prostate cancer, male reproductive health, urine loss, and fathering children while calling the pediatric line listed on their own website. Make that make sense. It has been almost 20 minutes of this nonsense just trying to schedule one simple pediatric appointment. The incompetence, lack of communication, and broken phone system are beyond frustrating. If this is how they handle basic scheduling, it seriously makes you question how the rest of their operation is run. Do better. Patients deserve better !!!!!!!! No one has time and energy for this BS
I After 1-2 Years of working with this facility, as well as with Dr. Harry Rutland, and after pleading with them to work with me and my family, I myself along with many other doctors have to say, this is one of the worst medical practices I have ever seen in my life, both in the customer service, the operations, and the operators. What was at first simply just a kidney stone removal, ended up costing me almost my life, horrendous finances, and a condition that may never return to normal. This doctor, and this team, have devastated me and my health. 2 Failed attempts to remove a kidney stone, with laser, and standard operations. The scarring and damage my kidney has suffered, has spiraled my life and health into hell. My kidney function is medically considered failing, and no other surgery or operation after could truly heal or salvage whatever remaining kidney function there could have been. Imagine, a kidney stone removal, leading to practically kidney failure in the near future. Numerous Doctors have agreed and condemned such practice and consequences for what took place in my case. I am officially now in line for a kidney transplant, with unfortunately years to wait for one due to my age, and all this would have never happened had Dr. Rutland and his team, properly operated for something as small as a kidney stone. I have pleaded with them to assist me to some extent for such terrible practice, and I've received nothing but excuses. Please, if you are considering this doctor, or this practice, run.
I defiantly not recommend that place. DON'T GO THERE! I went to the Roswell location and was seeing by nurse Banks on my 2nd visit ( I choose a Doctor not a nurse) and she order a lab that was send to a lab that was not on the network of my issuance without my knowledge and I ending with a bill while they could sed it to a lab that is in network. They are so irresponsable with it. Also, if they say that you will have to do a procedure and after that if wasn't enough than you will do another don't believe (specially with nurse Banks) because they would do both at the same time and you only will know last minute. They say they are one of the best in the area ( that could be true ) but I wouldn't trust Nurse Banks for anything. Now Im fighting to see if I can received the money back for my lab that was send to someone out the network. Please do your research with who you will get treat with and make an extend evaluation if that person is good for you.
Update: They reached out to my husband and said they would no longer be providing care for my husband and advised us to find another urology group. - My husband had outpatient urology surgery here, and our experience was deeply concerning. Before the procedure, we noticed a serious issue: after his first visit, we checked the patient portal and found another patient's information listed under his account. When we spoke the office staff, they did not seem to take this matter seriously, which was disappointing. On the day of surgery, my husband was very anxious and asked the pre op nurse to place his IV in his forearm to minimize discomfort. She didn’t seem to understand. As his wife - not as a nurse - I explained to pre op Nurse Sonia (or Sonya) the requested placement of the IV in his forearm rather than his hand. (She was upset at me from the beginning because I refused to put his shoes in the same bag with his underwear and requested another bag to put the shoes.) Instead of considering what we asked for at all, Sonia responded sarcastically, saying "I'm the nurse here." She ignored the request, then purposefully removed the tourniquet from his arm, applied it to his wrist, and inserted the IV into his hand. My husband is a young man with many good veins. Even choosing the hand against our wishes, the insertion was bad and messy (see picture.) This caused unnecessary discomfort on his hand and made him even more nervous before the surgery because of the lack of care and skill displayed. When I tried to express my concern, she became defensive and confrontational, almost as if she wanted to argue with me. Sonia didn’t explain anything to us about what she was doing and what she was giving through his IV. We requested a different nurse but the nurse manager ignored our request for no reason. Sonia was unprofessional, dismissive, and outright rude. She disregarded both the patient’s condition and my reasonable request. Also, the surgery was started without a consent. The staff asked me to sign the anesthesia consent form because they forgot to have him sign it, and he was already in surgery and unable to do so. I truly hope this facility takes patient care and confidentiality more seriously in the future. Added - One month after his kidney stone surgery, he had an ultrasound, and it showed that there were still two stones present. When my husband asked the Dr. Wyatt about it, he responded irritably and said that they were not actually stones. I listened to the phone conversation between my husband and the doctor, and I could not understand why the doctor was so irritated.
