Eye Surgery Center Of The Carolinas

Left eye cataract done at Carolina Eye & Dr Millender was my surgeon. The entire staff was so helpful & the awesome surgical team was hands on, explaining what would happen & they were top notch giving me a sense of comfort and confidence before & after surgery. Been w/ Dr Millender since 2008. She is extremely knowledgeable, explains procedures etc so I could understand & she has a great bed-side manner & I have the upmost confidence in her. She’s one in a million eye specialist & kudos to her professionalism & to her wonderful staff. I Feel very blessed to have her in charge of my precious 80 yr eyes. Thank you Carolina Eye. Suzy Swink

9.5 hours for cataract surgery. Driver needs to take snacks and water! Had 3 soft drink machines that I could find. All 3 where out of order. I know they work very hard and I appreciate everything they do but they should try to make wating time a little less stressful. Especially since alot of people are seniors.

Very pleasant beside manner with all staff. Made me feel relaxed and at ease with my procedure. Dr. Fakadej is very experienced and precise with her technique, explained everything very well before, during and after my procedure. Highly recommend Carolina Eye associates. Wish the public could understand that medical clinics are not like a drive thru at McDonald's. One can not come in and expect to not have some waiting time. Anything that should be considered emergent should be at the ER or an urgent care facility. There are also more than one provider (with their own scheduled patients) waiting to be seen. If you have sat and feel like you have been overlooked because of the time; keep in mind that "you" are not the only one there to be seen and as soon as "your" appointed provider and staff are completed with the work up for the "patient scheduled appointment before you"; they will call you back to be seen. Those that have never worked in healthcare do not understand how it works. Please be patient and kind to the staff and providers because they are doing great work!

I appreciate the care given to me by my doctor, Pressley Hales. The only reason that I gave 4 stars is because getting a timely return call from medical staff on triage line for a medical eye emergency went unanswered prompting me to return to my general practitioner who had his nurse to call Carolina Eye to inform them of my emergency and that he was sending me right over. However, reception denied receiving a call from my doctor office. I spent the whole day at Carolina eye. There needs to be better management of medical emergencies/triage line. Short of that, I was pleased with the service I finally received.

Dr. David Throneburg always friendly and caring. His team is a great group of ladies who are helpful and friendly. I have been his patient for 22 years and counting.
