This was a visit from hell! I went in with a fractured patella or broken, they never said. First I was put in a cast for 3 weeks, I told them it had to come off because it was rubbing a gaping hole in the back of my thigh which was very painful! Once it was off they fitted me with a knee brace that was so complicated to put on it took two people to get it on. I’m thinking will I be able to put it on! Well , no I wasn’t able to put it on! There should be an option for age appropriate not one size fits all. After a week without my brace. I drove 25 miles to the orthopedist office and ask could I please get help putting this brace on! No, I don’t have an appointment! I asked for the Dr’s nurse. She came out about 15 minutes later and asked me what was I doing there. I explained why I was there. She tried to put the brace on by herself and grew frustrated when she couldn’t get it on right. She said “I’m going to take you to the therapy room and let them put it on”. We did that, they got it on eventually. I’m back where started! No proper fitting brace!

I absolutely recommend Emory Sports and spine. Dr Melissa Lau was amazing. She reviewed my medical issues and has me pointed in the right direction for treatment. She was very knowledgeable. Her staff were so sweet and caring. Very gentle and understanding. My wait time was pretty much non existent from the time I signed in to being called back was maybe 5 mins. Highly recommend.

5 Star Review for Emory Orthopedic in LaGrange: Thankfully, I found the incredible team at Emory Orthopedic in LaGrange, who were everything Hughston Clinic was not: kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. After contacting them, they were able to schedule me an appointment within two days, and the level of care I received was outstanding. They listened to my concerns, provided effective treatment, and worked with my insurance without any issues. If you have Ambetter insurance and need help with a hand or wrist injury, I highly recommend Emory Orthopedic in LaGrange. They are proof that excellent care and professionalism still exist.

To be fair, the staff is great. I have had good experiences in the past. This time, however, I am very unhappy with my experience. I went to Dr Cumerford (spelling?) for a knee injury. He told me it was arthritis, which I knew it was not. Twice I saw him when I had no improvement and a VERY painful shot that didn't help my issue at all. I sought a second opinion elsewhere and have found out that I have a torn meniscus. I will not be returning. The fact that he dismissed what I told him I thought was going on in favor of a misdiagnosis and the suggestion that the only fix I had for my pain was a knee replacement absolutely GUARANTEES that I won't be back.
