First appointment and I have been approved for cataract surgery. Very busy office with tons of staff and clientele. I will update through the process. *Second appointment was set for 1 week before first eye surgery. I waited about 10 minutes, oh wait...that is because I was 15 minutes early! They have a detailed process, from checking in, to exam and determining what lense they will implant, to instructions for care prior to surgery, to finance. I moved from one station to the next smoothly, informatively and efficiently. They told me expect 1 and 1/2 hours for this appointment, that was just about right, slightly under that. *Prior to surgery they call with exact time for you to arrive at their office and what time to stop eating (8hrs prior) and what time to stop water or clear liquids (2hrs prior). *Surgery day, the office is quiet, calm, almost deserted. I was told it would take about 3 hours and I would need a driver, I was done in 2 hours. A few staff and doctors. No waiting. Upon arrival, you are taken into a room for eye drops and IV port. Then shortly, you are in a presurgery room and they get you comfortable on a gurney (fully clothed). They covered me with a nice warm blanket. They administered small sedative (I guess as I woke up, but wasn't really aware I had gone out!) During sedative they gave my eyeball a shot, they said. But I didn't know and I am FINE with that. Then they wheeled my gurney into the room for the procedure, but thanks to the sedative and warm blanket I am awake but relaxed and calm. I see a kaleidoscope of light in the eye having the procedure, and minutes later they put me back in the other room. Time to sit up and have your ride ready, they wheeled me outside and it is over. *Day after surgery appointment at their other office where I wait only minutes, even thought I am early again. They make sure everything looks good with my eye and give after surgery instructions. Took about 20 minutes. Again efficient and friendly. Second eye was just as smooth. 5/13, 2 weeks after the first eye. The worst part was not having my coffee and creamer the morning of surgery! These folks are professional and work like a well oiled machine! Also friendly and kind and attentive! r .

Look some else for help with your eyes doctor here cost me my eye. Cause he wish not to help me with my eye. My eye was hitting pressure up to 47 and he said I cant do nothing go home. I got a second doctor to look at it and next day had surgery for laser to lose the pressure but it was to late now I just went thru a eye removal. Wonder if this doctor would of done something would it been better instead of me waiting to get other doctor to look at me and help me.

Be patient, you sometimes have to wait a while, it is worth the wait. I was originally referred (not by Cochise Eye and Laser) to Tucson for cataract surgery. They put in 2 introcular lens. I asked about toric lens and was told I was not a candidate for that type of lens because of irregular astigmatism. I came back to Sierra Vista and found out I would still need and have to pay for prescription glasses. I went to Cochise Eye and Laser and saw Dr. Aviles. Dr Aviles says he corrects astigmatism all the time and said he could fix it for me. He removed the lens and replaced them with Toric lens. I now have 20/20 vision, I use 2.0 reading glasses from Walmart to read fine print. What a difference a good Dr. makes. If your local optomitrist refers you to Tuscon, think twice and check out Cochise Eye and Laser. My wife is getting her cataracts from Cochise Eye and Laser in the next few weeks.

The day before Thanksgiving and they decided to close at noon. It would have been nice if they had mentioned that in their voicemail that they left yesterday about my glasses being ready to be picked up. Nowhere is it posted on their door that they were closing early on Wednesday only that they are closed for Thanksgiving and Black Friday. I would have liked to have had my glasses for my drive to San Diego this Thanksgiving weekend, but I guess it's not happening.
