Bloomfield Hills Surgical Center

What an outstanding experience I had at the Bloomfield Hills Surgical Center. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment and was greeted at the front counter by Sarah. What a pleasant women,smiling, happy to do her job and good looking also. Very professional, she took all my information and had me sign some papers and I had a seat in the waiting room to be called. They have a free coffee station so I did partake of a cup of coffee while waiting. Within a reasonable amount of time, I was called into the prep room. I sat inside the room and a very nice nurse named Clayton came in to take my vitals and proceeded to ask several questions about my health and medications. Clayton is a very thorough nurse and takes his job very seriously which I like in a professional like Clayton. Once complete, I got into my gown and sat waiting to be taken into the operating or service area to have my procedure done. I was taken in by Cara, a very professional nurse. Cara was very nice to give me a warm blanket to keep me comfortable. I then met Tonya in the operating room and she nicely instructed me to lay on the table. Tonya is a very excellent nurse and both Tonya and Cara made me feel very comfortable for my procedure. In comes Dr. Wittenberg with a smile on his face and his great bed or table side manner. Dr. Wittenberg has an outstanding personality and makes me feel very relaxed and comfortable for the procedure. Dr. Wittenberg talked me thru the complete procedure step by step as he proceeded. Always telling me what he is going to do before he does it so I am not supprised or shocked. The procedure was over in about 15 minutes. After Dr. Wittneberg left the room, my 2 favorite nurses, Tonya and Cara proceeded to instruct me about getting up off the table and taking my time to stand and Cara walked me back to my prep room. It was there that another nurse, Isabell, took my vitals and allowed me to get dressed for discharge. Isabell helped me to make my way back to the front room once she gave me all the information for my discharge in writing. As you can see, all the employees at the Bloomfield Hills Surgical Center are outstanding at their jobs. They all truly make you feel very comfortable and at ease. In my opinion, these employees should get a raise in pay for what they do for the patients. At the least, they should all have a good endorsement written in they employee files for their next review. Thank you all for everything you do for the patients. I made a 2nd visit to the Surgical Center in February 2026 for another shot for my back. The experience I had was just as good as the first experience. I was taken back to a room by Isabell and she prepared me for the visit with Dr. Whittenberg. Isabell took my vitals and explained everything that was going to happen in the O.R. After a slight wait for the doctor, Dr. Whittenberg came to speak with me. He said someone would come and get me for the procedure. I was then greeted by a charming and lovely nurse named Christine. She helped me walk to the O.R. where the procedure was to take place. I then met another charming nurse named Ricky. Both nurses were very professional and made me feel very comfortable about the procedure. Once Dr. Whittenberg came in, he walked me thru the procedure and before I knew it, the procedure was all done. I was then walked back to my room by the beautiful nurse named Christine. Both nurses in the O.R. were outstanding and should be commended for their professional work. Clayton, another nurse, took my vitals again, offered me an ice pak for any pain and sent me on my way. Once again, all the staff that helped me today were all very professional and made me feel very importand and comfortable as a patient. With the multiple visits I have had, I always seem to have great staff at this location. They all deserve a great recognition in their personal employee file as well as a free lunch or dinner, from upper management for all their efforts and the fine job they do at this center.

I had hernia surgery done here yesterday and had a great experience. I had some anxiety from prior surgeries and the nurses were so compassionate. I was under the care of Natalie, Haley, and Margot and they were all so wonderful. I did start my surgery much later than the expected start time, but that can happen anywhere. I would absolutely recommend this facility.

From the FRONT DESK Check in , to a patient being taken back and released , this Surgical Center was WONDERFUL . ( Such Compassion ! ) They even have a Pharmacy for your prescription to be filled , so you don't have to make an extra stop on the way home .

My husband had a spinal laminectomy and he can't give enough high praise to the Dr's, nurses and staff for their excellent care and concern. From check in to check out they took excellent care of him. He felt very relaxed and comfortable because of the whole atmosphere there. It took his fear of surgery away. Also I had a vertigo episode just before he was taken to surgery. The nurses were so caring and helpful to me while I waited for our daughter in law to come stay and get us both. Huge shout out to nurse Kim for her exceptional care of both my husband and myself. We would definitely recommend this center as a top notch place to come for surgery.
