Just lost what I was writing . Anyway my last appointment was with Lea and she is just great. She takes her time and listens to what u have say. Lea works with Dr Pensa, again no complaints about him . He is very gentle and again takes his time to take care of you and explain as much as he knows. And, there receptionist Lucy is so good at what she does. Always pleasant and concerned with what is going on.
No problem parking. The building was clean and safe. Check in only took a couple minutes. The staff throughout my process was pleasant and competent. I spent a good amount of time with Bridget. She is very knowledgeable and has a great bed side manner. She explained what I needed to understand and we developed a plan to move forward. Overall, I am pleased with my visit.
I previously saw Dr. Newton as my gastroenterologist over five years ago. More recently, my aunt was hospitalized and received care from Mary Fortuna Silva. I was extremely pleased with the care she provided and developed a great deal of trust in her as a provider. Given my own autoimmune disease and desire for more consistent follow-up, I hoped to transfer my care to Provider Silva, particularly as I prefer a female provider. While I had a positive experience with Dr. Newton and his office, the exceptional care my aunt received during a serious health crisis motivated me to pursue this transition. Prior to the new year, I contacted Provider Silva’s office (which I understand operates under Dr. Akerman). Unfortunately, my experience with the office staff was dismissive, rude, and lacking empathy. I felt brushed off and was met with clear frustration for even inquiring about transferring care, despite my aunt being a current patient and speaking with the provider herself. I allowed some time to pass and then followed up with Dr. Newton’s office, who were professional, kind, and reassuring. They indicated that transferring care would not be an issue, especially given the length of time since my last visit and my expressed trust in provider Silva. Based on this, I attempted again to contact Provider Silva’s office after the new year. On January 22, 2026, I left a message and was later called back by an office staff member who was rude, condescending, and quite irritated by my request to see a different provider. She stated she would need to speak with the provider and would call me back. I never received a return call. Instead, a message was sent to Dr. Newton’s office instructing them to contact me to schedule an appointment the following day. At that point, I decided the situation was not worth further conflict and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Newton’s office, who were once again nothing but understanding and compassionate. I subsequently contacted the operator in an attempt to speak with an office manager to share my concerns. I was transferred to the Staniford Street office (Dr. Akerman and Mary Fortuna Silva’s office), where I politely requested to speak with a manager. Once again, I was met with frustration and anger, told that someone would have to call me back, refused the name or contact information of a manager, and was blatantly hung up on. As a nurse in a leadership role at The Miriam Hospital, I find this level of treatment deeply concerning. We would never speak to or treat patients in this manner. Based on my interactions, the prevalence of one-star reviews citing similar issues is unsurprising.
I can’t say enough about how great Dr Nadelson and staff was during my procedure at Mariam Hospital. Professional, kind, patient, and he/they took plenty of time explaining everything. The follow up was amazing! They called the next day to check on me. Very caring. Would highly recommend.
Noone should ever go to anyone but Ravi Nadimpalli. He is the sweetest most genuine and caring Dr I've met as far as men. No offense guys but some of you white Drs don't care and it shows. Not with this guy. Nadimpalli is the man. Give him a raise.
