Horrible staff, I had an appointment for 12/23 and they sent an offer for a new appointment and I did not want the appointment due to it being same day they refused to give me my appointment back and would see me until a much later date. I didn't accept the appointment I opened the app to look at it and it automatically accepted not me. I called immediately once it happened they claimed in two minutes my appointment was already given to someone else and they were not willing to work with me. This is the same hospital that has sent my family broken away they are a joke. I wouldn't recommend to family or friends hell I wouldn't recommend an enemy.

Specifically gastrointestinal crew, the early crew were very friendly, the schedule was running behind so i was switched to the afternoon crew. They just stared at me, not friendly at all. I was woken as soon as the procedure was over, asked if i had any questions. I asked, then fell back asleep. I could hear around me again as i was being updated to recovery, the nurse was mocking my question (concerning the procedure) because i had stomach pain, then the recovery nurse responded by insulting the intelligence of the person that was driving me. Within 10 min they were on the other side of the curtain mocking the physician that did my procedure as if he were incompetent. I just can't believe the unprofessionalism, I've been with Cleveland Clinic several years, this incident and Akron General Hospital have these bad attitude employees that don't deserve to be health care professionals. If you don't like people, find a different job, but shame on you for acting like you are still in Middle School and risking your co-workers reputation. It frightens me to ever think I would have to depend on any Akron Cleveland Clinic employees in a life or death situation. The 2 stars are for the early crew that probably keep the place running and in business.

Dr was excellent and thorough for my upper EGD. Nurses were kind and joked around with me. Overall quick easy procedure.

Inadequate parking. Large potholes in parking lot. Little to no striping for parking spot guidance. Not very handicap friendly. Handrails on stairs from parking lot are nearly rusted through at the base. Soon will be unsafe. Filthy windows, not exterior, but between the waiting room and the hallway. It looks like someone used a greasy rag to clean them. Somewhat concerning for a healthcare facility. Makes one question other cleanliness. The self service check in kiosk seemed dirty as well and wasn't very private- basically a giant screen that anyone in the waiting room can see your date of birth and other information. In addition, my appointment for a regular preventive diagnostic was postponed twice by months. All total about 4 months. Not enough staff was the reason given. Will probably go back to Summa for next diagnostic.

Specifically for the Gastroenterology department. Super nice people, but largely inadequate care. Doctor had to push my colonoscopy back 4 hours because of a personal travel delay with less than an hours notice. Same doctor was over 30 minutes late to a tele-visit follow-up with no call or message or warning from staff. After the colonscopy, they misprescribed my medication, and it wasn't caught for nearly a month. When I called about medication questions and unpleasant side effects, their response was "well the lady who handles medications is out until Wednesday, so we can probably have her call you back Thursday." An important follow-up appointment was rescheduled nearly a month later than it was supposed to be because they had a scheduling conflict come up, with less than a weeks notice. It probably comes down to Cleveland Clinic just being greedy and not wanting to hire more staff. Every time I've been to any Cleveland Clinic location, they seem understaffed and overworked.
